- Data Subjects
The Register includes users of the websites and online services, prospects, customers, and candidates.
- Data Stored in the Register
Providing data to the Controller is voluntary. If the necessary personal data is not provided, the Controller may not be able to provide the service requested by the data subject.
The registered data includes personal data of companies and their contact persons.
Personal data processed: name, company, contact information (email address and phone number), service language, information regarding contact with Honko Corporate Finance Oy, and consent information regarding the acceptance of marketing communications, newsletters, and contacts.
- Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing Personal Data
The legal basis for processing personal data in the Honko Corporate Finance register, according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, arises from:
- The person's consent (voluntary, specific, informed, and unambiguous)
- A contract to which the data subject is a party
- The Controller's legitimate interest, such as a customer relationship prior to a contract
The data subject has the right to withdraw their consent to the processing of personal data subject to consent at any time. However, the withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
The purpose of processing personal data is communication with customers, prospects, and candidates, marketing, and maintaining customer relationships. The data is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
The Controller uses personal data:
- To provide services, fulfil contractual obligations and rights, or carry out measures preceding the conclusion of a contract. The Controller processes personal data for these purposes on the basis of its legitimate interest or contract.
- To identify individuals for the purpose of concluding a contract and offering services. The Controller processes personal data for these purposes on the basis of its legitimate interest or contract.

In cases where the Controller processes personal data based on its legitimate interest, the legitimate interest may be, for example, a customer or subscriber relationship or other processing that the data subject can reasonably expect. The Controller has assessed that the data subject's interests or fundamental rights and freedoms, which require the protection of personal data, do not override such legitimate interests.
- Regular Data Sources
Data stored in the Register is obtained from customers and prospects, for example, through messages sent via www-forms, by email, by phone, through social media services, from contracts, customer meetings, and other situations where the customer discloses their information.
Information on contact persons of companies, candidates, and other organizations may also be collected from public sources such as websites, directory services, and other companies.
- Regular Disclosures of Data and Transfer of Data Outside the EU or EEA
The Controller uses software and marketing service providers who, together with their own subprocessors, may process personal data under a contract made with the Controller to provide services to the Controller. Such processors provide services related to digital data storage and retention, media platforms, and related marketing services.
The Controller uses only third parties as processors that comply with the safeguards set by the European Commission for the transfer of personal data to third countries. Any data transfers made by the processors shall comply with the requirements for the transfer set by applicable legislation, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the requirements set therein. Personal data may thus be transferred to Third Countries for which the European Commission has assessed the level of data protection to be adequate, or by using other safeguards under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Such a safeguard is, for example, the Standard contractual clauses for international transfers approved by the European Commission or binding corporate rules approved by the supervisory authority.
- Principles of Register Protection
Care is taken in the processing of the Register, and the data processed by means of information systems is appropriately protected. When register data is stored on Internet servers, the digital security of the data is taken care of appropriately. The Controller ensures that stored data, access rights to the servers, and other information critical to the security of personal data are treated confidentially and only by those employees whose job description includes it.
- Right of Access and Right to Request Correction of Data
Every person in the Register has the right to check the data stored about them in the Register and to demand the correction of any incorrect information or the completion of incomplete information. If a person wishes to check the data stored about them or demand correction, the request must be sent in writing to the Controller. The Controller may, if necessary, ask the requester to prove their identity. The Controller will respond to the customer within the time limit stipulated in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (as a rule, within one month).
- Other Rights Related to the Processing of Personal Data
A person in the Register has the right to request the deletion of personal data concerning them from the Register ("the right to be forgotten") for those processing grounds required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Likewise, data subjects have other rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, such as the restriction of the processing of personal data in certain situations. Requests must be sent in writing to the Controller. The Controller may, if necessary, ask the requester to prove their identity. The Controller will respond to the customer within the time limit stipulated in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (as a rule, within one month).
